As you can see from my other
diary entries I have been interested in weblogs and the "visitors" that use them.
Right now I want to ask what tools do you use to help find blogs, know when information is updated, ways of handling html without having to type all the protocols in, and any other tool or website that increases your satisfaction or quality of experience on a blog?
To find when new content is added to a blog, I have tried Tucows trial version of
LiveMark without much success since it indicated all content was new. I also am going to try
Blogarithm which e-mails you daily when changes have occurred. In very dynamic web sites (such as dailykos) these endeavors may not be very fruitful since the content is changed so often during the day. Although it may be useful on a diary you may want to follow.
Any thoughts on these issues?
Thank you all for participating in my last poll.
Now I wanted to present the same poll but give some reasoning why we think it may work for a dynamic weblog search engine. It may be useful to see the other diary entry.
RankItBest-when a customers makes his choices on his/her desires and wants, we rank the best choices for him in relevance with our algorithm.
Decision City-our concept of visiting places in a city and that we would help them navigate to the desired places.
MyQuester-the customer would give the "Quester" a quest to find what he is looking for. Thus differentiating from a simple search engine based on keywords or links. We like the intellectual qualities of a quester since even a scientist could be considered a quester (searching for the truth).
MyWebDog-of course man's best friend and most loyal companion that helps him find relevant information or assist him in his pursuits. But this may have been overused in Fetch it or other search engines like Lycos.
Thank you in advance for your participation.
